Meet Shorty – a chunky couch potato with a heart as big as his head. While Shorty was once adopted and thought to have found his forever home, he was soon returned making him one of the longest residents at Champs Chance Rescue.

Over the past few years, Shorty has become more than one of just our sanctuary dogs – he is family. Recently, our hearts were broken to learn that Shorty has a tumor on his bladder. Due to its location, treatment is especially challenging.

While there is no easy soltution, we have the opportunity to help keep him comfortable and give him the best quality of life possible while he deals with the upcoming treatment. The recommended remedy is expected to cost approximately $500 each month.

We also want to create a special space where Shorty can comfortably spend his days while experiencing this. Our goal is to build him his very own sanctuary – a cool, quiet place where he can escape the Florida heat, relax on a comfy couch, and enjoy the life he has always deserved.

Our $5,000 goal will help provide:

• Ongoing cancer treatment and medications

• Veterinary visits and supportive care

• A climate-controlled mini house or renovated sanctuary space

• A comfortable couch, bedding, and enrichment

• Everything Shorty needs to live out the rest of his journey with dignity, comfort, and love
