For the past two years, Champs Chance has faced an uncertain future.
Champs Chance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog rescue based in North Florida. We exist for the dogs that many others turn away: the abused, neglected, medically complex, behavioral cases, seniors, and dogs at risk of euthanasia. Since opening our doors, we have helped save more than 1,000 dogs and celebrated over 800 adoptions, giving countless animals a second chance at life.
Today, that mission is at risk.
For years, our founder, Alicia Bopp, has dedicated her property, time, and resources to helping dogs with nowhere else to go. Over the past year, Gadsden County has taken actions that have made it increasingly difficult for Champs Chance to continue operating from its current location. While we immediately complied with court rulings regarding business operations and have continued our lifesaving work through foster homes, boarding facilities, volunteers, and community support, new challenges now threaten the future of our rescue once again.
Without a permanent home, every emergency becomes harder. Every natural disaster, foster shortage, medical case, and urgent rescue call becomes a question of whether we have the resources and space to say “yes.”
That is why we are launching our biggest fundraiser yet.
Our dream is to raise $175,000 to purchase permanent land for Champs Chance.
A permanent facility would allow us to:
• Provide a safe place for dogs when foster homes aren’t available
• Respond to emergency and disaster situations
• Store food, medical supplies, and rescue equipment
• Create training, enrichment, and play areas for dogs in our care
• Host adoption events and fundraisers
• Reduce long-term costs and increase our lifesaving capacity
Today, more than 100 dogs are currently in our foster network. Every week we spend hundreds of dollars on food and thousands on medical care. We continue to say yes to the dogs nobody else will take because we believe every dog deserves a chance.
We have rescued dogs who were shot, abandoned, starved, left behind during disasters, suffering from severe medical conditions, and facing euthanasia simply because no one else stepped forward. Their stories have happy endings because Champs Chance existed when they needed help.
Now, we need your help.
This fundraiser is about more than land. It is about protecting a lifeline for the dogs who will need us tomorrow, next month, and years from now. It is about ensuring that abused, neglected, and forgotten dogs continue to have a place to turn when no one else says yes.
Every donation, every share, and every supporter brings us one step closer to securing a forever home for Champs Chance and the thousands of dogs whose lives will depend on it.
Please help us protect their future.
