Help Us Honor Robert Gary McKay’s Memory
Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,
It is with a heavy heart that I reach out today to ask for your support in covering the cremation and funeral expenses for my beloved father, Robert Gary McKay. My dad was an incredible man, a loving father, a hardworking individual, and a friend to all who knew him.
Growing up with my father was a gift. He was a constant presence in my life, showing up at every football and baseball game, picking me up from late practices, and always making sure I had a ride every morning. I’ll never forget our family vacations to the Keys, fishing trips, and cruises where we saw the world together. And of course, the countless nights of laughter as we played games as a family. Every holiday, every Christmas, every Thanksgiving, was filled with love, warmth, and an abundance of food that made me feel so blessed.
But it wasn't just about the fun times. My dad worked tirelessly to provide for our family. Whether it was in real estate for over 20 years or driving a big rig across the country after the 2006 market crash, my father did whatever it took to support us. He never complained, never shied away from hard work, and was always ready to do whatever needed to be done. He was the rock of our family.
My dad was married to my mom, Joy P. McKay, for nearly 30 years before we lost her 7 years ago this past August. Their love was undeniable, and her passing left a hole in his heart that he carried with him every day. Losing her was undoubtedly the hardest thing my dad ever faced. While he never fully healed from that loss, he remained strong, resilient, and focused on moving forward—just like he always did.
Now, as I face the loss of my dad, I am asking for help. The financial burden of arranging his cremation and funeral is something that has weighed heavily on our family. We want to give him the farewell he deserves, a final tribute to the wonderful man he was.
If you knew my father, you know he was a man of integrity, kindness, and love. His legacy lives on in the way he lived his life, in the lessons he taught me, and in the memories we made together. If you can, please consider donating to help cover his final expenses. Every contribution, no matter the size, would mean the world to me and my family.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, for your support, and for being a part of my father’s legacy.
With love, Justin P McKay
