Washa Ndoto: Light Up Youth Dreams in Goma
(Phase Two of the Chora Spark Collective Launch)
We’ve Already Begun — Now We Need You to Grow
Thanks to early supporters, we raised $800 and launched our first pilot at a secondary school in Goma, DRC.
Thanks to your support, 22 youth have already started creating change in Goma.
Now we’re expanding to have 112 young innovators by 2026 through our Tuwashe Ndoto (Ignite dreams) campaign.
Now, we’re ready for Phase Two: building a real youth innovation space where young people can design, heal, and create.
Why We Started
In 1998, my father fled the war in Congo.
In 2012, I was a 12-year-old boy hiding from gunfire.
In 2025, my niece was only 12 when schools shut again.
Three generations, same war, same survival mode.
But every time a young person in Goma builds something new, we take back a piece of our story.
That’s why we created Chora Spark Collective: a space where survival turns into creation, and trauma turns into innovation.
What We’re Building
A community-built innovation hub where teens learn to design, build, and lead.
- Pitch Day – Youth pitch ideas like solar kiosks or eco-briquettes.
- Build Sprint – Small groups receive Spark Grants and mentorship to build prototypes.
- Demo Day – The community gathers to vote, fund, and celebrate.
- Boost Round – Strong teams receive extra support and tools to scale.

❤️ Why This Matters
In a city shaped by conflict, young people’s imagination is our greatest resource.
Every kit you fund and every prototype you help build says, “Your ideas matter.”
This isn’t charity — it’s investment in a generation that refuses to give up.
