This Eid, some children in our community will have nothing to be excited about.

While many families celebrate with gifts and joy, there are children right here in Ottawa whose families cannot afford toys or books this Eid.

No child should feel forgotten on a day meant for happiness.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Charity does not decrease wealth.” (Sahih Muslim 2588)

This Ramadan, you can be the reason a child smiles.

On Saturday, March 14, we will be distributing toys and books to children in need across our community. Your donation will go directly toward providing Eid gifts that bring joy, dignity, and belonging.

Even a small donation can make a real difference.

You can also drop off toys and books during March 9-13 9am-5pm at:

• Somali Centre in Ottawa (1719 Bank Street)

• Imam Shafii Centre in Ottawa (1792 Bank Street)

Every gift is a form of sadaqah, and every smile is a reward written for you with Allah.
