Hello everyone,

My name is Rylee, and I had the absolute honor of being one of Carter’s “bonus” sisters.

Today and for the rest of time, we’re remembering someone whose presence was truly unforgettable. Carter fought a brave and tireless battle with his depression—a battle so many never see. Though he gave it everything he had, the weight of it became too much.

Carter was so much more than his struggles. To know him was to love him. His passion for cars was unmatched, his loyalty to his friends was fierce, and his style—bold, unique, and completely his own—was just one of the many ways he expressed his vibrant spirit.

More than anything, Carter had a rare and beautiful gift: he listened. Really listened. In a world that’s often too loud, he made space for others. He showed up. He stayed.

Today, I find myself smiling through the sadness, remembering his iconic purple shoes, his legendary and unhealthy love for Taco Bell, and the way he made you feel seen and accepted—just as you are.

Carter was one of the rare ones. And the world is dimmer without him, but brighter because he was here.

As we prepare to lay Carter to rest, I want to make sure he receives the farewell he truly deserves — one that reflects the love, light, and impact he brought into all of our lives.
