Our Story

If you live here, you know her.

She’s the one who opens up early so elderly neighbours can pick up their essentials before the rain. She slips an extra warm treat to the kid whose parents are working late. She stays late to help local groups hang posters, and is always the first to lend a hand whenever anyone in the area needs support.

She runs her business with just a small team – but day in, day out, she’s the first one there and the last to leave, doing the bulk of the work herself. And at the end of every long shift, she goes home to be a full-time single mum, pouring all her remaining love and energy into her children.

These past few years have been unbelievably tough. Costs have soared, bills have piled up, and one challenge after another has come her way. But she never complains, never asks for anything – and still shows up every single day with that same warm smile, ready to help anyone who needs her.

And then today, on top of everything else, disaster struck: a huge, unexpected leak has caused major damage to her premises, adding urgent, costly repairs to the mountain she’s already climbing.

She would never set this up for herself. When we mentioned it, she shook her head and said “there are people worse off than me”. But we believe kindness should be a two-way street. For years she’s looked after all of us – now it’s our turn to look after her.

What We’re Raising For

Every penny goes straight to her: to cover the urgent repairs from today’s leak, help with rising business costs, catch up on bills, and give her and her family some breathing room – the chance to take a well-deserved day off, or just stop lying awake at night worrying about how to fix it all.

We want her to feel as cared for as she’s made all of us feel, for so long.
