Amidst the stress and fear that so many families are feeling this year, this holiday season we hope to bring a bit of joy to kids who are facing food-insecurity throughout DC, Maryland and Virginia.

While we cannot give something to every child in each household, we have the ambitious goal of gifting two new teddy bears to each family that will receive a delivery of food and essentials in the next few distributions and in the new year, as many families celebrate the feast of Epiphany/Three Kings Day on January 6.

On average, we are currently supporting 130-160 families per week.

***This means we are aiming for 1,200 teddy bears! and just $3 covers the cost of one.***

(Please note this is a separate effort from FJ's "Santa con Sabor" project, a toy drive for a giveaway in Alexandria VA, and for various community leaders to distribute. Our teddy bear fundraiser is for the families who receive home deliveries on Saturdays and who cannot participate in SCS.)

2025 has been a very difficult year for so many families. Thank you so much for all the ways in which you support your community, and the work of Food Justice DMV, even when facing your own challenges this year. We are deeply grateful for you and do not take you for granted.
