I've thought about doing this for a while, but didn't know if it would pull through. However, our little boy deserves the very best and if there are ways and means of possibly ensuring this, then it's worth a shot.
I'm Amy and I'm Ardee's mum. Ardee is 3 years old and has suspected evolving Cerebral Palsy. This affects both sides of his body, but more dominantly his right side. Ardee is immobile, only able to roll to move himself around. He is only able to sit if his legs are crossed, and cannot transition himself from sitting to lying down or vice versa. This means Ardee needs an adult supporting him 24/7, whether it is to change his position, get him into/out of his equipment, help him with his care needs or even to simply pass him the toy/activity that he wants.
Ardee is such a happy little boy and is unbelievably clever. This is where we have hit a wall. As Ardee is so clever, we are struggling to get him a 1 to 1 for school in September. From the views of the authorities - Ardee is able to tell you where he wants to go/what he wants to do. But this is not benefiting Ardee in terms of the independence that he both needs and deserves. Ardee is having to wait until an adult is free, to be able to help him. This means he can spend a good majority of his day, just sat waiting. This can affect Ardee negatively and he is getting upset/frustrated most days due to this. Something else that he just doesn't deserve.
The aim of this Go Fund Me is to hopefully fund Ardee's new wheelchair. Ardee goes to school in September, where we want him to have as much independence as possible and make his daily struggles, as easy as we can. Having a wheelchair and learning how to use this would open so many more opportunities for Ardee, as well as helping him feel more included/that he has the same opportunities as everyone else. We would be so grateful for any donations to help us with this!
