Shoreham Pottery is a community pottery workshop, teaching space, and shop currently located in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex.

We run weekly regular classes as well as one-off classes and short courses. When possible we fund and/or part fund local community charitable groups.

Combining over 40 years of experience, we are local potters Alice Maplesden and Katy Harris and we established our lovely community pottery in 2015 and it has been going from strength to strength ever since.

Sadly our lovely space in the heart of Shoreham is being redeveloped and it's our time to leave. Although we love this space and will be leaving with heavy hearts, we are very excited to have the fantastic opportunity to move to the newly redeveloped units at Shoreham Port. We truly believe that this will be an ideal and accessible new space for our business to grow and cant wait to get settled in.

However the cost of moving our community pottery is enormous and is putting a huge financial strain on our business.

We are looking for support to help contribute to funding our move and set up costs. Half of what we raise will go towards this.

We are doing it as low cost as possible , calling in all the favours but we estimate it will cost us over 5k in total not including our time or the loss of takings occurring due to being closed.

The other half of anything raised will go towards our local community charitable groups.

We hope to be offering funded and/or part funded weekly classes to local charitable community groups. We aim for these to run as blocks of 4 x 90 minute classes and hope to be able to offer the sessions to 6 groups each year. The cost of each block will be £600, this will cover the costs of up to 8 participants, tutor fees, materials and all firings.
