Help us Fund a Tremont Enrichment Program
Donation protected
Hello all,
We hope this letter finds you enjoying the May season! Our names are Izzy Perozek, Kai McGinn, and Ellie Stetson, and we are AmeriCorps Service Members serving at the Mission Grammar School for the 2020 - 2021 academic year. The community we serve is largely low income students of color, and we are raising money for two different projects that will benefit this community.
One of the requirements of our year of service with AmeriCorps is a legacy project: something members leave behind in gratitude to our service sites. As our service year comes to a close and we think about our legacy project, we have considered the values of this wonderful community, and have been impressed all year by Mission Grammar’s unwavering commitment to cultivating a vastly diverse, accepting space for every scholar. We have decided to make a 3’x10’ mural for the upper school that conveys this message, depicting a scene of the brilliant futures ahead of each and every scholar.
In addition, as the summer approaches, we would like to provide our scholars with enrichment programs. We are still finalizing our wish list, but some highlights include visits from baby goats and the purchase of a bounce house and a slip and slide. Beyond providing a fun reprieve many times throughout the summer of 21, these purchases will be enjoyed by scholars in future summers. Our aggressive goal is to provide 5-10 unique enrichment opportunities.
As AmeriCorps Service Members, we do not have enough resources to fund this ourselves, and that is where our friends and family come in! In order to make our vision into a reality, our goal is to raise $1,500. Any size donation makes a difference to our scholars and would be met with such appreciation! Below are details of the purchases we’d like to make. Any money we raise beyond our expenses will go to the Mission Grammar Annual Fund which provides scholarships to our neediest families.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or ideas, and we thank you in advance for your consideration.
Best,
Izzy Perozek, Kai McGinn, and Ellie Stetson
