In the spring of 2022, the opportunities for young women in and around Severna Park were limited when it came to learning outdoor skills, developing leadership and building confidence. A few of these young women founded the first Scout Troop in Severna Park, MD under Scouts BSA where they would learn the same skills as their male counterparts and learn the lessons of leadership needed in their futures. Troop 1983 for girls was opened in February of 2022 with just 5 girls, but grew beyond expectation and recently hit 22 - 22 young women aged 11-18 who would see out the adventures, camaraderie and experiences that would last a lifetime.

But with rapid growth comes need - Our Troop of young women is well equipped with all of the gear we need thanks to our incredible group of volunteers and the friends and family who dug deep to donate, but now we need to take the next step in our growth - Our Troop needs a cargo trailer to meet the requirement to carry equipment to and from our adventures, and help secure our gear in between our outings.

We're looking for a trailer capable of carrying about 3,000 pounds of gear for our weekends, and given our growth, we're planning for a trailer that can help sustain us for the next ten years. We estimate these costs to be about $10,000 but any left over funds would be used to outfit shelving, storage and other necessities.
