Support for Matthew McLaughlin’s Family

Our dear family friend, Matthew McLaughlin, has been missing since July 26th, 2025. He was last seen on the South Side of Tres Piedras, walking toward Highway G4 in Taos, New Mexico. Since then, there has been no contact with his family or friends—something that is deeply out of character for Matt.

Matthew is 25 years old, 6'3", and weighs approximately 170 lbs. He has tattoos on his chest with a birth and death date. All of his personal belongings and beloved animals were left behind, which has only heightened our concern.

His mother, Rebecca—my mother’s best friend since high school—rented the first available car and drove all the way from Virginia to New Mexico to help locate her son. Despite her tireless efforts, Matthew has not yet been found.

Unfortunately, the search has been met with obstacles. Matt’s roommates have been evasive and uncooperative, and the Taos Police Department has provided minimal assistance. We are doing everything we can, but we need help.

This GoFundMe is to support Rebecca and the ongoing search efforts. Funds will go toward travel expenses, lodging, printing flyers, hiring private investigators, and any other resources that may help bring Matthew home.
