I'm a student and a single mom of a wonderful 13-year-old daughter. Recently, we experienced a disaster on our property—a tree fell and brought down live wires, which led to a series of unexpected challenges. After the incident, we learned that our house may not be up to code and, as a result, code enforcement is shutting down our property. Everything is happening so quickly, and we suddenly find ourselves with nowhere to go.

Balancing school full time and working part time has always been a challenge, but I have done my best to provide for my daughter. Unfortunately, I was not able to set aside extra money for emergencies like this. Now, we are facing the urgent need to relocate and find a safe place to live, but the costs are overwhelming.
