Help Us Fill Backpacks for Local Children

At Rosie’s Corner, we support families who are facing financial hardship—many due to the ongoing cost-of-living crisis and the impact of the two-child policy. As the new school year approaches, we’re seeing a huge rise in requests for basic school supplies—things many of us take for granted but which are now simply unaffordable for struggling parents.

That’s why we’ve launched our Back-to-School Backpack Appeal.

We want to provide at least 10 fully packed school bags for local children—bags that will help them feel confident, prepared, and included when they return to the classroom this September.

What Each Backpack Includes:

A sturdy backpack (~£15)

A scientific calculator (~£13)

A full stationery kit (pens, pencils, ruler, rubber, highlighters) (~£5)

A pencil case (~£3)

A reusable water bottle (~£5)

A notepad and other small essentials like glue sticks (~£5)

Total cost per backpack: approx. £46–£50

We are aiming to raise £500 to cover 10 complete backpacks for children who need them most.

Why It Matters

Back-to-school costs are rising year on year. Some families are forced to choose between food, heating, and school supplies. By providing these backpacks, we’re not just giving out pens and pencils—we’re giving children the dignity of being prepared and the chance to start the school year on equal footing with their peers.
