Help Hire Immigration Lawyer to Free Him From ICE

Story

Hi, my name is Shaunti, and I’m raising money for my 21 year old close friend who was recently taken by ICE and placed in an inhumane immigration detention center known as “Alligator Alcatraz” deep in the Everglades. My friend was in the process of fixing his papers and already had a court date set. He was doing everything the right way, following the legal process, but that didn’t stop ICE from detaining him. They took him away without warning and now he’s stuck in a nightmare. He’s one of the first people brought into this new facility, and the conditions are horrifying. He told me he was shackled tightly for over 12 hours, barely fed only given a small piece of bread and an apple for the whole day. He was only allowed half a cup of water. The toilets didn’t work. The building had holes that let in swarms of mosquitoes, and his body is covered in painful bites. To make things worse, the facility flooded, and they have to sleep in itchy feeling because of the mosquitoes . This is not humane. This is torture. He called me in tears, broken, telling me he feels like he’s in a nightmare. ICE is trying to force him to “self deport” which means they’re intentionally making the conditions so unbearable that he gives up and agrees to leave voluntarily. But he has no one back in the country they’re trying to send him to. His entire life is here. If he’s sent back, he will be alone and in danger. We are doing everything we can to stop this, but time is running out. We’re trying to hire a lawyer who can fight for him. But immigration lawyers are expensive and we need at least to raise to get him legal help before it’s too late. If you’ve ever had someone you care about treated unfairly..if you believe no one deserves to be starved, neglected, or broken down like this please help. Even just $1 makes a difference. If you can’t donate, sharing this link helps too. Every dollar will go directly to his legal defense. We’re not asking for help for attention or pity. We’re asking because he deserves a chance. A chance at freedom. A chance at dignity. A chance at life. Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. And thank you for standing for justice. Let’s bring him home.
