Hello, I'm Colm Rooney, and I'm honored to share the inspiring work of my dear friend, Nantamba David, Co-Founder of the Tosiyo Helping Hands Foundation in Kampala, Uganda.

The Need

Across Africa, many children lose their parents at a very young age due to HIV/AIDS, accidents, and poverty. They're left as orphans, children with disabilities, and street children, vulnerable, with no one to feed them, clothe them, or give them shelter.

Many face hunger, going days without a proper meal. No uniforms, no warm clothes, no shoes. Unsafe or overcrowded places to sleep. Grief and loneliness, with no one to comfort them.

Without support, their future is at risk. With support, they can go to school, stay healthy, and dream again.

Their Mission

Tosiyo Helping Hands Foundation believes every child is valuable and deserves hope, dignity, and a chance to grow. They provide food, shelter, education, and comfort to over 500 orphaned, disabled, and vulnerable children in Makindye, Kasawo, Nansana, and Kasese, while also nurturing the planet through sustainable farming and environmental conservation.

What They Do

Care for Children: daily meals, safe homes, school support, home visits, and direct care at their center

Sustainable Farming: permaculture techniques to grow food, reduce hunger, and protect the environment

Community Support: empowering families and neighborhoods through outreach

Environmental Stewardship: planting trees, flowers, and gardens to combat climate change and promote biodiversity

Their Dream: A Self-Sustaining Home and Farm

Currently, they lease land to run their programs. Their dream is to purchase their own property to create a permanent orphanage and permaculture farm, a loving, self-sustaining community where children can flourish, and nature thrives alongside them.

The Goal: $35,000 USD

Phase 1: $10,000 to secure a deposit to purchase land

Phase 2: $15,000 to build permanent homes for the children

Phase 3: $10,000 to develop the permaculture farm and plant trees and gardens

Every Donation Counts

$10 feeds a child for a week

$50 plants 10 trees that help clean the air and nourish the soil

$100 supports a child's education for a whole month

Join the Mission

David and the team are calling on volunteers, well-wishers, and donors to stand with them:

Volunteers: come spend time with the children. Teach, play, pray, mentor, and comfort them. Your presence alone gives them hope.

Well-wishers: donate food, clothes, blankets, school supplies, toiletries, and medicine. Small gifts make a big difference.

Donors: support daily meals, school fees, safe shelter, medical care, and psychosocial support.

When we stand together, a hungry child is fed, a naked child is clothed, a homeless child gets shelter, a broken heart is comforted.

This isn't just giving aid. It's restoring hope and building the future of Africa, one child at a time.

Call to Action

Please consider making a donation today, volunteering your time, or sharing this vision with your network. Let's show these children they are loved, seen, and not forgotten.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support.
