Help us feed Chapel Hill
Donation protected
“The Goy Group” was started in 1992 by Michael Goy to prepare and serve healthy, delicious, hand-prepared meals for members of Chapel Hill’s unhoused population and residents of the IFC Community House. We have prepared and served a 5-6 course meal for up to 80 diners on the third Sunday of every month since 1992 (with a brief hiatus at the peak of the pandemic).
Our menus are based on raw ingredients provided by the Interfaith Council (IFC), but must typically be augmented with purchases that we pay for out of our own pockets. Of late, funding for IFC has dwindled, and the need for supplementary funding has increased significantly. We are therefore asking for GoFundMe support to help us cover the increased cost of ingredients.
We are not an organization, but rather a group of friends who love cooking together, and feel strongly about community service. As such, there are no “administrative costs” and every single penny you contribute will go directly towards healthy meals, made with love, for folks who truly appreciate them.
Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts for anything you can spare!
