Help us expand and revamp your community eco-shop (so we can STOCK WINE IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS!)

Eartharmony is Belper’s one shop eco-shop, providing a range of ethically sourced, eco-friendly and zero waste products for the local community.

Following our move to Queen Street and transition to a cooperative structure, the response from the local community has been fantastic, and Eartharmony’s customer base and demand for ethical products continues to grow.

We are now fully run and staffed by volunteers. Local people are contributing their time and energy to help in-store and behind the scenes, showing just how much Eartharmony means to Belper.

But - we are currently facing some growing pains as we work to meet our customers needs and requirements...

Limited space for new products: The current shop floor space and design of our shop limits our ability to stock in-demand items, including the ethical, sulphite-free wines we are regularly asked for

Not enough sinks: Having just one small sink makes it more tricky for customers and volunteers to dispense liquid refills, one of our biggest sellers, especially when the shop is busy.

Only one toilet: With only one small toilet onsite, our current facilities aren’t sufficient to support our amazing volunteer team.

We urgently need to raise £2,000 to enable us to some physical upgrades to the shop before Christmas. These include:

Remodelling the back room of the shop, upgrading the plumbing and adding a large sink, to create a new 'utility area' for liquid refills - so handling these is easier and more practical for our brilliant customers

With the space freed up, creating a new area to stock much-requested ethical, sulphite-free wines, and other in-demand items

Adding an upstairs toilet, to provide better facilities for our volunteers and customers

Installing fire extinguishers to ensure we meet all requirements for community spaces.

Making these changes as soon as possible will make a huge difference to our ability to meet our customers’ needs and requirements and support our volunteers, helping our shop to grow.

IT WILL ALSO MEAN WE CAN STOCK SULPHITE-FREE WINES IN TIME FOR XMAS - so if you want to see wine in store, please donate!

Wine tasting - 19th or 21st December
Christmas Eve carols and wine tasting - 24th December

We know we have a wonderful community of supporters who believe in what we do and want to help - if every customer was able to dig deep and donate a few pounds this festive season, we know we could reach our target in no time. Thank you!
