I never imagined I’d have to ask for help like this, but my situation has become urgent. I’m trying to leave my abusive mother’s household, where the environment is getting more aggressive every day. The arguments are constant, and my dog and cat are often locked in my room with me. I’m belittled and dehumanized, and I spend most of my time locked away, only coming out to use the bathroom or go to work. If I leave my room, I’m met with yelling, screaming, and insults. Living here is extremely difficult, especially as I struggle with mental illness. I’m also being denied access to resources I need, like a service dog for my health.

I’m doing everything I can to gain freedom—picking up a second job, saving every penny, and working hard. My partner is in a similar situation, and we both need to move into a new apartment together to escape these toxic environments. The funds raised will go directly toward paying for our apartment, providing food for our animals, covering transportation, and helping us afford basic necessities like food for ourselves.
