Help Us Launch Hope Homes: A nonprofit that will create a Safe Place for Youth Aging Out of Foster Care
What happens when foster care ends… but life is just beginning?
Every year, around 1,000 young people age out of foster care in Texas, many without family, support, or a safe place to call home. Within just a few years, up to 40% will experience homelessness.
At 18, most of us were still figuring life out — with help. But for many foster youth, turning 18 means being handed a trash bag, a few belongings, and a goodbye.
We’re building Hope Homes to change that.
Hope Homes is a faith-based emergency housing initiative created for young adults aging out of the foster care system. Our vision is to build a secure, supportive environment where these young men and women can find:
• Safe, stable housing
• Mentorship and life-skills training
• Emotional and spiritual support
• Access to education, therapy, and job prep
• A real sense of community — and hope.
We’re stepping out in faith — but we can’t do this alone.
We’re asking for your help to raise $75,000 to fund:
• Nonprofit infrastructure and startup costs
• Site planning, architecture, and renderings
• Legal and compliance support
• Media and outreach efforts
• Initial staffing and grant preparation
• Outreach to aged-out youth currently without stable shelter
Every donation helps us move one step closer to opening our doors. Whether it’s $10 or $1,000 — it makes a difference.
