Revitalise the Victory Club!

The Victory Club, formerly known as the Royal British Legion Club, has been a cornerstone of our community since its founding in 1925. We are dedicated to empowering individuals and fostering local connections.

However, like many organisations, we have faced significant challenges in the wake of COVID-19. Our membership has declined from 1,000 to around 300. While we greatly appreciate the support from our current members who continue to renew their memberships and spread the word, we need more community members to recognise and utilise the facilities available at the Victory Club. We are a diverse, multi-use community hub with so much to offer, and we don’t want to risk losing this vital resource.

What We Do:

At the Victory Club, we host a variety of community events that bring people together:

Quiz Nights: Enjoy fun, friendly competition while testing your knowledge!

Live Music Events: Join us on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays for performances by talented local artists from various music scenes.

Friendship Club Every Tuesday

Pool and Darts Teams: Connect with fellow enthusiasts in a welcoming environment. We’re always looking for new talent!

Charity Fundraising: We proudly raise funds for organisations like MIND, supporting mental health initiatives in our community.

In addition to these activities, we serve as a venue for seasonal events like Christmas, Easter, summer fairs, New Year’s Eve. We also offer affordable hire for personal events such as weddings, birthdays, wakes, and awards evenings, and host local clubs like tabletop gaming and Slimming World.

A highlight of the year that we hold dear is Remembrance Sunday and with both the The Memorial Village and the Centotaph being on our doorstep we continue to support each and every year.

The club has been CAMRA Club of the Year and has been a finalist several times for its ales.

As we work to rebuild our membership following the pandemic, we ask for your generous donations to help fund the club's renewal for the future.
