About Us

The Greater Rochester Soap Box Derby is a non-profit youth racing program that has been inspiring young minds since 1934. Our mission is to provide an exciting and educational experience for boys and girls aged 7 to 20. Participants build simplified cars from kits purchased from the All-American Soap Box Derby, fostering creativity, teamwork, and STEM skills.

Our Vision

We’ve been racing down the hills of Durand Eastman Park, but now we need your help to take our program to the next level. Our dream is to build a permanent barn where we can store our equipment, host workshops, and create a welcoming space for our young racers.

Why a Permanent Barn?

Storage: Our equipment, including cars, tools, and safety gear, needs a safe and weatherproof home.

Workshops: With a dedicated space, we can offer hands-on workshops to teach kids about car assembly, aerodynamics, and racing techniques.

Community: The barn will become a hub for soap box derby enthusiasts, fostering camaraderie and mentorship.
