Help Bring Life-Saving Medical Care to Guatemala – October 2025 Mission

This October, I will be joining a dedicated medical mission team from Emanuel Wesleyan Church as we travel to Guatemala, to serve patients in an underserved region with limited access to even the most basic medical care.

Our team is made up of medical professionals and volunteers committed to providing hands-on care, compassionate outreach, and much-needed health education. In partnership with local leaders and clinics, we will work to meet immediate medical needs while helping to strengthen long-term community health.

What We’re Doing:

We will be providing primary care, chronic disease management, urgent and emergency support, pediatric care, and more—free of charge to all patients. This includes:

• Diagnosing and treating common infections and injuries

• Managing chronic conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, and asthma

• Distributing essential medications

• Offering prenatal vitamins and pediatric supplements

• Delivering health education and wellness screenings

• Providing supplies and hygiene kits to families

How You Can Help:

We are seeking both financial support and in-kind donations to equip our team with the supplies needed to serve safely and effectively. All contributions will go directly toward medications, medical equipment, travel logistics, and clinic setup.

We are collecting items such as:

Medical Equipment:

• Stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs (adult & pediatric), pulse oximeters

• Glucometers with test strips, lancets, and glucose gel

• Portable ultrasound, otoscope, thermometers, reflex hammers, etc.

• Emergency gear: IV kits, oxygen masks, tourniquets, wound care supplies

• Pediatric supplies, diagnostic tools, and travel medical kits

Medications (Adult & Pediatric):

• Acetaminophen, ibuprofen, aspirin, allergy meds

• Antibiotics (amoxicillin, azithromycin, metronidazole, etc.)

• Chronic condition meds: lisinopril, metformin, inhalers, insulin (if cold chain possible)

• Deworming treatments, prenatal vitamins, zinc, ORS

• Epinephrine, albuterol, ondansetron, and more

Clinic & Hygiene Supplies:

• Gloves, masks, sanitizer, soap, bleach wipes, disposable gowns

• Spanish-language forms, dosing charts, and education materials

• Toothbrush kits, feminine hygiene products, and first aid supplies

• Toys and coloring books for children in clinic

Logistics & Clinic Setup:

• Durable travel totes, power banks, lighting, water filters

• Folding tables, tents, whiteboards, rain gear

• Portable stretchers, peak flow meters, pregnancy tests

Even the smallest contribution—whether a $5 donation, a box of bandages, or a spare stethoscope—makes a meaningful impact.

Many people in Guatemala go without access to basic medical care due to distance, cost, or lack of infrastructure. Our goal is not only to treat illness but also to build relationships, support the local healthcare system, and show the love of Christ through service.
