Hare Krishna,

We’re raising funds to create a children’s Krishna conscious library at Bhaktivedanta Manor in the Bal Govinda room, a dedicated space designed to inspire a love of reading and spiritual learning in our children.

The aim of this project is to provide Krishna conscious children’s books, alongside a small selection of parenting books focused on raising Krishna conscious children. We want to support both children and parents by making these books easily accessible, encouraging families to read together at home, and nurturing a love of reading from a young age.

The library will be housed in a locked bookshelf and will be open during specific library sessions a couple of times a week, where families can pop in to read together and borrow books to take home. Children will be able to get their own little library cards and check books in and out, just like a real library.

The funds raised will be used mostly to purchase books to fill one large children’s bookshelf. A small portion will also go towards basic library supplies such as labelling the books, simple record-keeping, and children’s library membership cards, to help keep everything organised and cared for.

Our goal is to raise £500, which will allow us to create a well-organised, age-appropriate library that serves our community and supports children’s spiritual growth.
