On the morning of December 16th at 9:10AM, my family’s world changed in an instant. My father was detained by ICE at his job. They came without a warrant and took him, along with five of his coworkers. Just like that, my dad, the man who has worked tirelessly for nearly 30 years in this country to support his family, was gone.

My father is not a criminal. He is a hardworking man, a provider, a husband, and a father. He has spent most of his life in this country, waking up every day to work honestly, pay bills, and give his family stability. He has never asked for help.

He was the sole provider for our household. Now my mom and my 14 year old brother, are facing the unimaginable: legal fees, a mortgage, and daily expenses, without him. The fear and uncertainty we’re living with right now is overwhelming.
