In Loving Memory of Shawn Daugherty

On Monday, April 21st, 2025, our father, Shawn Daugherty, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack. His sudden departure has left an unimaginable void in our hearts and in our lives. He was more than a father and husband, he was a straightforward man, and a source of unwavering strength and wisdom. In his own words “I am the man you send for the ammo”.

He lived by the phrase: "Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance." Growing up, my brother and I were raised to live by these words. Whether it was school, sports, or life in general, Dad believed in being prepared for anything. He always had a plan, and if he didn’t, you could be sure he was already thinking one through. That mindset shaped who we are today, especially as we now navigate college and adulthood. In true Shawn Daugherty fashion, he even left us with a folder labeled the “Survival Package”, containing necessary documents and a Veterans burial/funeral book.

However, this wasn’t part of the plan. We never expected to open that binder so soon. We never expected to choose his casket or make burial arrangements at this point in our lives. We certainly weren’t prepared for the financial burden that comes with laying our father to rest. With heavy hearts, we are asking for help. We are raising funds to cover the costs of his funeral and final arrangements. Any contribution, no matter how small, would make a meaningful difference to our family.
