Over the past two years, the Lotus Sports Club documentary has travelled the globe, sharing a powerful story of community, resilience, and queer voices. Thanks to the generous support of many, the film has reached audiences across Asia, Europe, and the Americas—winning awards, sparking conversations, and inspiring countless viewers. Its impact on queer communities in Cambodia has been both profound and positive.

For over 20 years, Coach Pa Vann has dedicated himself to the sport and his players, tirelessly working to create opportunities for young Cambodian athletes. With his own hands and resources, he began constructing a training field behind his home in Kampong Chhnang—a space designed to nurture talent while offering a secure and inclusive environment for the next generation of players, especially lesbian and trans athletes who have often faced discrimination within their families and at school.

Thanks to the backing of generous sponsors, alongside other initiatives for team members (including an unforgettable trip to the 2023 Hong Kong Gay Games), we were able to secure funding to advance work on the training field. However, rising costs and unforeseen challenges have delayed the project. An additional €3,500 is needed to complete critical features such as the roof, lighting, artificial turf, goals, and netting.
