Le Lac was born from a simple yet deeply collective ambition: to bring vibrant cultural life back to the heart of Brussels.

To create an open and accessible space where emerging artists, non-professional creatives, collectives, and grassroots initiatives could find a platform to express themselves, experiment, and bring their ideas to life in a place made available to them.

A space envisioned as a cultural breathing room within the city—a place for experimentation, encounters, and creation.

As part of the preparation and development of the project, several essential steps were undertaken to make it both feasible and compliant: acoustic studies, architectural support, soundproofing improvements, and financial commitments related to the lease.

Following the project's evolution and its closure, these financial commitments remain outstanding. The total amount of debt is €13,500, covering:

• Acoustic studies
• Architectural fees
• Outstanding rent
• Investments made to improve the soundproofing of the space

The city of Brussels has made it inviable for us to continue this project, but for us it is imperative to take full responsibility for these commitments and bring this initiative to a close in a transparent and respectful way for everyone involved.

The purpose of this crowdfunding campaign is therefore simple: to repay the debts incurred through this cultural project and ensure that every contractor, partner, and professional who contributed to it is fairly compensated.

Although Le Lac could not fulfil its original ambition, it was driven by a strong belief: that Brussels needs more open spaces for artistic creation, experimentation, and emerging culture.

If this project resonates with you, or if you believe in supporting independent cultural initiatives, your contribution, no matter the amount, will directly help us close this chapter responsibly.

And if you are unable to contribute, simply sharing this campaign will make a meaningful difference.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read, understand, and support our journey.
