Give the Gift of Inclusion: Support Deaf Students in Accra

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Candida Ati-tay, and I am raising funds for the Karen Elizabeth James (KEJ) Foundation to celebrate World Hearing Day on March 3, 2025, at Tetteh Ocloo State School for the Deaf in Accra, Ghana.

The KEJ Foundation was founded in memory of my mother, Karen Elizabeth James, a remarkable woman known for her kindness, resilience, and creativity. Despite facing challenges due to her hearing impairment, she was a talented artist who inspired everyone around her.

Her untimely passing at just 36 years old left a huge void, but through this foundation, I am determined to honor her legacy and create a world where everyone, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to thrive.

Why This Matters
World Hearing Day is an opportunity to uplift and empower deaf students, advocate for hearing health, and promote disability inclusion. Tetteh Ocloo State School for the Deaf is home to over 300 incredibly talented students who receive education and vocational training in skills like carpentry, sewing, hairdressing, and bead making. However, they often lack basic resources to support their learning and well-being.

By coming together, we can help these students express themselves, showcase their skills, and raise awareness about the challenges they face.

How the Funds Will Be Used
Your generous donation will help us provide:
1. Snacks and water for all students participating in the event
2. Educational materials (crayons, pencils, colored sheets, markers, etc.)
3. Medical supplies for the school’s sick bay (which has run out of essentials)
4. 300 sanitary pads for the school girls of menstruating age
5. 50 World Hearing Day T-shirts for students participating in the exhibition, performances, and awareness campaign

Please Donate today—every contribution, no matter how small, makes a huge impact!

Thank you for your generosity and for being part of this mission to build a more inclusive and equitable society!
