Starting in 1995, when Price Pfister, a pipe fitting manufacturing plant in Pacoima, announced it was moving to Mexico because NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) was signed into place by then-US President Bill Clinton (Bubba), allowing corporations to move to Mexico to super exploit the people and land, workers here announced a strike! They immediately called upon the Partido for support. At that time, the local chapter had a youth group at San Fernando HS (La Raza Estudiantil), which held a food and toy drive for workers when the holidays came around, and many families had already begun losing their housing after months of militant Raza worker struggle.
Since then, every single year, El Partido Nacional de La Raza Unida of the San Fernando Valley has organized Fiesta En El Barrio not as charity but solidarity.
We raise funds to buy educational materials, toys, and snacks for the children of our community!
Please help support! Anything helps!
QUE VIVA FIESTA EN EL BARRIO!!
