Help Create Stability for Our Three Autistic Children

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Megan. My husband and I are the proud parents of four wonderful children—three of whom are autistic. While my husband works full-time, I’ve been working as a special needs van driver. But after years of juggling therapy schedules, specialist appointments, school meetings, and the intense day-to-day needs of our kids, we’ve reached a breaking point.

We are no longer able to meet our children’s needs while I continue working outside the home. Our family needs me to be fully present—now more than ever—for their safety, their therapies, and their well-being.

Meet Our Children

Logan, 18, is autistic with high anxiety and ADHD. He functions emotionally at a much younger age and requires constant guidance. He’s graduating from high school this year and receives daily one-on-one support at school, plus 10 hours of ABA therapy at home each week. He cannot drive or navigate the world safely on his own and will need long-term support into adulthood. Logan is also very creative—he draws comics, plays piano by ear, and loves sharing his artwork. Creating brings him joy and helps him connect with others.

Nia, 6, is autistic and bright. She has noise sensitivities that require her to wear noise-canceling headphones daily and a tendency to elope, which means she needs constant supervision. Her special needs bus commute takes two hours a day—though it would be just 20 minutes if we could drive her. She receives ABA therapy at home and school-based speech and OT, and has been referred for outpatient therapies we hope to start soon.

Noah, 5, is severely autistic with global developmental delay and hypotonia, which affects his balance and muscle tone. He is nonverbal and receives 40 hours of ABA therapy each week, both at a center and at home. Noah wears a chew necklace to prevent self-injury and requires round-the-clock care, including overnight monitoring. He is currently undergoing genetic testing for Fragile X syndrome and other possible causes of his developmental delays. Despite his challenges, Noah is incredibly affectionate—and while he doesn’t use words, he communicates in beautiful, quiet ways that we’re learning to understand more every day.

Why We’re Hoping to Raise $7000

Right now, we’re doing everything we can—coordinating therapies, attending medical evaluations, working with schools, and making sure our kids are safe. But it’s not sustainable. We simply can’t be in three places at once. And our children can’t wait for support.

We’re hoping to raise $7000 to help us get through this transition while we apply for SSI for all three children—a process that can take 6–8 months or longer. During that time, your help would allow us to:

  • Cover essential bills (rent, utilities, groceries) while I step away from work
  • Install safety equipment like window bars, locks, and cameras to keep our kids safe
  • Provide reliable transportation for therapies, school, and medical appointments
  • Be present in their schools to advocate and volunteer
  • Start outpatient speech and OT for Nia and Noah as soon as possible

We’re also selling our family camper to help cover expenses, but even with that, we won’t have enough to make it through the coming months while we wait for SSI approval.

We’re not a family that likes to ask for help—but right now, we truly need a village.

We know many people are going through hard times themselves. Even sharing this fundraiser, commenting some kind words or offering a small donation would mean so much to our family. And through it all, we’re still finding joy—Logan’s graduation, Nia’s artwork, Noah’s belly laughs. Your support would help us keep those moments shining, even during the hardest days.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,

—Megan and Jeff
