Help Us Care for Arthur in His Final Fight Against Cancer

My name is Agnese, and I'm reaching out with a heavy heart on behalf of my beloved brother, Arthur, who is 48 years old and lives in Riga, Latvia. In 2023, Arthur was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon and Liver Cancer. Since then, his condition has worsened significantly. In the last few months, his health has declined so rapidly that he has lost the ability to walk and has stopped eating due to progression of the illness. He now urgently requires round-the-clock care, oxygen concentrator equipment, specialised medicine, mobility aids, and carefully tailored nutritional support to prevent further malnutrition.

Arthur has always been a kind-hearted, gentle soul - someone who has never asked for anything. But right now, he needs help.

Arthur is currently being looked after by our elderly, frail mother - doing her very best as his only carer. But she's overwhelmed and struggling to cope, unable to provide the level of care Arthur so desperately needs.

Our small family has no savings to fall back on or relatives to turn to. We survive on our mother's small pension and the financial help I do my best to send each month, but it's simply not enough to cover the mounting medical expenses and urgent care costs.

We are humbly trying to raise £8'000 - to afford essential home care services, medication costs, mobility aids, special medical equipment, and specialised nutrition to give Arthur comfort, dignity, and the chance to continue his fight surrounded by the love and support he deserves. This amount would cover approximately three months of essential care. Sadly, medical treatment in Latvia isn't free, and the public healthcare system for Cancer patients is overwhelmed. With months-long waits just to access a hospital bed, we are out of options.
