Help Us Buy a Food Truck to Feed The Homeless community

- We are Kalani and Sandy, and our mission is to feed the people in our Vancouver, Washington community. Since October 2024, we have been feeding our homeless brothers and sisters every Saturday in the parking lot of a local church. We started out feeding about 20 people each week, but now we are feeding between 50 to 60. We are currently feeding them straight out of the back of our car, with a canopy, a table, and all the necessary supplies to put out a weekly meal. All week long, we plan, shop for, and prepare a hearty main dish and a dessert. We both have extensive professional cooking experience and have had a catering business specializing in Hawaiian food.
- The amount of hungry people is more than we can accommodate with our current setup, so we have set our sights on a food truck. Our vision is a mobile kitchen that can help us access and feed hungry people on a much larger scale.
- Every week, we hear people tell us that they wait all week for Saturday, as that's the only hot meal they get. Some come running up, panicked that they forgot what day it was and that they missed out. Some ask for an extra meal which they save for later. The stories we hear would break your hearts.
- We are currently paying for everything out of our own pockets, which we are happy to do. We started a YouTube channel to help us with future food expenses.
