The Wenona Food Pantry is a non-profit organization in the City of Wenona, Illinois. The pantry is staffed entirely by community volunteers who selflessly offer their time and energy to work with our rural food bank to provide food supplies to our community members in need.
The Wenona Food Pantry operations are led by Sandy Naylor, a dedicated community member who has been spearheading the Pantry operations for over 42 years.
Unfortunately, the pantry’s previous location of operations was recently sold, requiring us to relocate our pantry for the 7th time. As a short-term solution to ensure continuous service for our clients, the City has graciously allowed us to temporarily operate out of the City of Wenona Bi-Centennial Room at 205 ½ South Walnut.
Following careful deliberation, our non-profit organization has determined that constructing a permanent facility will best serve the needs of our community. Accordingly, the Pantry recently bid on and was awarded the right to purchase three empty City lots which had remained vacant for some time, for the purchase price of just $10.
Now the real work begins! Preliminary estimates indicate that the development of a 30x40 building to house our new operations will require funding in the range of $75,000-$100,000. The building will be constructed by a local builder, with assistance from additional community workers and volunteers, but...
WE NEED YOUR HELP to achieve our objective of completing the transition to the new facility by early summer 2026, and to ensure uninterrupted client services.
We are pleased to announce that a generous pledge of $20,000 has already been received, initiating our fundraising campaign.
Please help us to continue helping others by supporting this worthy project. Contributions can be made at, mailed to or directly deposited into our non-profit account at:
