Hi, my name is Roomy Sooroojbally. I'm a music producer, mentor, and founder of T.I.E (This Is Edmonton) a grassroots music collective born from my own journey of overcoming learning difficulties and finding healing through music.

Growing up with undiagnosed dyslexia, I struggled in school. Reading and writing didn’t come easy to me, and I often felt lost. But music was the one thing I could understand — not through books or notes, but through sound, feeling, and instinct. It became my escape, my strength, and eventually, my purpose.

Now, I’m using everything I’ve learned to give back. I work with young people in Edmonton, especially those who feel like they don’t quite fit in. I teach them the basics of music production, private mentorship, and provide a safe space to express themselves — because I know how much of a difference that can make.

But it’s time to grow.

With your support, I want to build a permanent creative space — a real home for T.I.E. This will be more than a studio. It will be a **community hub** where young adults (18+) can:

Record live music in a fully equipped studio with real instruments — not just software

Experience sound therapy to support mental and emotional wellbeing

Create album art, photography, and digital visuals in a dedicated art space

Join jam sessions and workshops that connect creativity with healing

In most studios, there’s no access to live instruments like guitars, bass, drums, or percussion — yet these are the tools that help artists truly connect with music and feel its power. We believe in music you can *touch*, *hear*, and *feel* — because that’s where real transformation begins.

T.I.E is about more than beats and lyrics. It’s about giving people a sense of purpose, belonging, and a place to grow — artistically and personally.
