Help us build the Casa Loma Community Rink!
Hello! My name is Sarah Gould, and I am part of a team of neighbours who hope to build a community ice rink in the Casa Loma parkette this winter. We have approval from the city of Toronto through the Natural Ice Rink program, and we are grateful to have the support of Councillor Josh Matlow, the Casa Loma Residents Association, and Casa Loma has generously agreed to provide water for the rink at no cost. However, it is up to the community to build and maintain the rink and to cover the costs of any supplies. We are hoping to raise enough money to purchase a rink liner kit in December, which will help our volunteer icemakers build and maintain a great rink.
As parents know too well, the pandemic led to the closures of settings that previously supported children's play and sports, like parks, community centres and sport facilities. What better way to facilitate outdoor play and connect with friends and community, than a local ice rink in our very own corner of the city!
Any donation, small or large, will get us one step further to a place that will bring our community together.
Sharpen your skates, we hope to see you on the ice! ⛸️⛸️❄️
