Different Minds... Same Big Hearts — this is more than our slogan. It’s the heart of everything we do at HOOT-HOORAY, a children’s brand inspired by our 3-year-old daughter, who is Level 3 on the autism spectrum.
Every day, like so many parents, we face challenges that leave us feeling overwhelmed and alone — unsure where to go or who to turn to for support. That’s why we started this mission. That’s why we created HOOT-HOORAY. And that’s why The Bridge app needs to exist.
Why We Started HOOT-HOORAY
HOOT-HOORAY was born to become more than just a brand — it’s growing into a symbol of connection in the autism community. Through our bright, fun-loving owl characters, we’re building a brand that gives back and uplifts families who are navigating the early stages of an autism diagnosis.
We want parents to see HOOT-HOORAY and feel hope, joy, and support — and know they’re not in this alone.
The Vision Behind The Bridge App
The Bridge will be a simple, clear, and powerful app designed for families of young children (ages 18 months–5 years) on the autism spectrum — created by parents, for parents.
This won’t just be another autism app.
It will be a lifeline, built from lived experience.
A place where families can:
- Connect through chat groups with other parents who truly understand
- Plan inclusive playdates and days out without fear of judgment
- Feel seen and supported by a community walking the same path
- Access personalized, easy-to-follow resources — including how to apply for government support, early intervention programs, funding, and more, all tailored to their child’s needs and location
- Use a super friendly, calming interface — with simple navigation and easy tools, focused only on the resources families want most during the early stages of diagnosis
- Enjoy language accessibility — we’ll work to support the most common languages spoken in the U.S. to ensure no parent is left out

We don’t want to build what we think families need. We want to listen, include, and grow this platform together — with parents sharing their stories, challenges, and wishes so the app becomes something built around their lives.

Our Fundraising Goal
Our long-term goal is $25,000, but to begin building The Bridge, we are starting with a target of $3,000 - $7,000.
These initial funds will go toward:
- Market research — speaking with real families and understanding their needs
- Partnering with therapists and autism professionals
- Hiring interface designers to keep the app friendly and clean
- Bringing on developers to begin building the first version
- Forming a dedicated team who believe in this mission
This will be a long-term project — but we believe with your help, and the voices of the families we’re building it for, it will become a life-changing tool for so many.
