Help Us Build Green Room Roastery at Southsea Cinema!

Hi! I’m Kjellfrid (K for short), founder of Lee-on-the-Solent Coffee Company. We’re partnering with Portsmouth Film Society at Southsea Cinema and Arts Centre to bring their café space back to life — and we need your help.

We’re launching The Green Room Roastery:

A warm, sustainable café serving freshly roasted coffee, healthy food, and artisan cakes — all within the walls of our local independent cinema and arts centre.

Why This Project Matters

Southsea Cinema is a special place — a creative, welcoming venue for film and arts. But its café? It could do with better coffee!

By transforming the café space, we’ll will:

• Create a community hub where everyone feels welcome.

• Fix the double glazed front windows, seal it properly, make it visible from the outside.

• Develop a sustainable coffee roastery using ethically sourced beans.

• Create a partnership with local charities, giving volunteers meaningful work experience.

• Build a new source of income to help Southsea Cinema thrive.

Where Your Money Goes

To make this vision a reality, we need to raise £10,000. Every donation will directly fund:

• Renovation and sustainable makeover of the café

• Replacing the shop windows

• Moving our coffee roaster to Southsea and installing a flue

• New equipment, grinders, display units, and furniture

• Branded signage and a beautiful community space

• Volunteer trainings and local partnerships

We’ll use every pound responsibly to create a café Southsea can be proud of.
