Hi everyone,
My name is David Nugent, founder of The Kids Coach. For the past several years, I’ve dedicated my life to supporting autistic children, teens and adults through exercise, movement, camps, afterschool programmes and community events.
Thanks to years of support from families, schools, community groups and incredible kids, something amazing is now happening…
We have secured a community centre — and are about to create Dublin’s first multi-service Autism Community Hub.
This will be a place where an autistic child can begin at age 2, grow through childhood, move into teen supports, and continue into young adult programmes — all under one roof, all in one community, all with people who genuinely care.
What the Kids Coach Autism Community Hub will provide
With your help, we will create:
• Fully equipped sensory rooms
• A movement and exercise hall tailored for autistic children, teens and adults
• Therapy rooms for Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Play Therapy, Psychology and more
• Social groups for all ages, including teens and young adults
• Weekend services, birthday parties, respite activities and family events
• A small community café, offering social opportunities and potential work experience for autistic teens and adults
• Safe, modernised outdoor spaces with fencing, sensory play equipment and inclusive activities
• A pathway of support from early childhood to young adulthood — something that does not currently exist in Dublin
Why we need your help
Although we have secured the building, it is old and in need of major upgrades — new sensory equipment, partitions, flooring, outdoor improvements, therapy room fit-outs, safety upgrades, signage and more.
As I am in the process of forming The Kids Coach Community Hub CLG (charity), every cent raised will go directly toward:
• Building works
• Sensory and therapeutic equipment
• Safety improvements and outdoor development
• Accessibility upgrades
• Furniture, resources and programme setup
This hub will serve hundreds of autistic children, teens and adults across Dublin.
It will become a safe place to move, learn, regulate, connect and belong.
Why this matters
Families constantly tell me they have nowhere to go — no consistent supports, no ongoing pathway, no community hub where their children can feel understood, accepted and included.
This centre will change that for Dublin.
How you can help
If you are in a position to donate, thank you so much.
No amount is too small — everything helps us build something life-changing for so many families.
If you can’t donate, sharing this GoFundMe would mean the world.
Thank you for believing in this mission and for supporting the autistic community.
You’ve helped me bring this dream to life — now let’s build something incredible together.
