For a while now, my in-laws have been living with us in our home. We are deeply grateful to be able to support one another and stay close as a family. Sharing a smaller space has taught us a lot about patience and togetherness, and as our family continues to grow, we’re hoping to make our home more comfortable for everyone.

With a baby on the way, we want to create a living arrangement that gives everyone the space, privacy, and comfort they deserve. Our goal is to renovate our detached garage into a small in-law suite where my in-laws can have a cozy, independent space while still being nearby.

To make the garage livable, we need to update the electrical, add insulation and plumbing, and install a small kitchenette and bathroom. We also plan to include simple prefab cabinetry to make the space functional and welcoming. This renovation would allow our household to better support one another while maintaining a sense of balance and peace.

This project has been a dream for some time, and completing it before our baby arrives would mean so much to our family.
