At Autism Foundation CIC, we believe every child and adult with autism and other disabilities deserves a safe, loving, and well-trained environment where they can thrive. Unfortunately, the current care system is deeply underfunded, overstretched, and often staffed with people who lack the specialist training to meet the complex needs of those we love.
We want to change that — but we need your help.
Who We Are
Autism Foundation is a registered Community Interest Company (CIC) (Company house number. 15989339) led by three passionate directors who each have a personal connection to autism through their own family members. We have dedicated our lives to advocating for and supporting autistic & disabled people, their families, and carers through training, workshops, and resources that have already changed lives globally. (Social Impact Report available on request).
Now, we’re ready to take the next step — to create a bespoke Respite Centres and Care Homes that provides the high-quality, person-centred care our community so urgently needs.
What We’re Building
Our goal is to open:
• Respite centres that offer short-term stays and support for families who desperately need a break, knowing their loved ones are safe and thriving.
• A residential care home designed specifically for autistic and disabled children and adults with complex needs.
This project will be staffed by trained professionals who understand autism, learning disabilities, sensory needs, and challenging behaviour. Every individual will have a personalised support plan to ensure dignity, independence, and joy in daily life.
Why This Matters
Families across the UK are struggling to access safe, appropriate care.
• Many parents are burning out due to lack of respite.
• Children and adults with autism & other disabilities are placed in settings that are not designed for them, leading to poor outcomes and, sadly, trauma.
• The system is overwhelmed — we need new, innovative solutions.
We have already completed a feasibility study showing a pressing need for respite provision for disabled people — and we are ready to make it happen.
How You Can Help
We are seeking to raise £151,131 to cover:
• Property acquisition/renovation
• Specialist equipment & sensory spaces
• Staff training and recruitment
• Initial operating costs to get the service running
Every donation, no matter how small, will bring us closer to creating a safe haven for some of the most vulnerable people in society. (Financial breakdown from feasibility study provided on request).
