Every child deserves a safe place to play, imagine, connect, and belong.
At Waverley Drive Public School, our primary playground has been a cherished part of our school community for 24 years - but it has reached the end of its usable life. As safety standards have evolved, both slides have had to be removed, and the structure can no longer safely serve our children.
For many of our 596 students, this playground is more than just recess equipment. For some, it is their primary - and sometimes only - access to safe outdoor recreation. After school hours and throughout the summer months, it serves families across the North Riverside community through summer camps and subsidized neighbourhood programming.
Now, we need your help.
School boards do not fund playground replacement, which means this project will be built by our community, for our community. Our goal is to raise $50,000–$75,000 to create a new primary playground that is safe, inclusive, and joyful for children of all abilities.
Whether you can give $20, $50, or more, every donation moves us one step closer to giving our kids the play space they deserve.
Please help us build something that will serve Waverley children and families for years to come.
Built by our community. For our kids.
Thank you for being a part of this!
Sincerely,
Waverley PS School Council Playground Subcommittee
