We are a volunteer-run boxing club based in Sudbury, Suffolk, providing training and support for people of all ages in our community since 1952. For more than 70 years the club has proudly trained and supported boxers, several achieving Regional and National championship level.

Every week we coach around 60 members, including children as young as 6 years old, teenagers developing confidence and discipline, and adults in their 50s, improving their fitness and wellbeing.

Boxing has an incredible power to build confidence, improve mental health, and create positive opportunities for young people. Our club has become a safe, supportive place where people come together, stay active, and feel part of something special in their community.

However, we are currently operating from a large wooden shed in a pub car park. While we are incredibly grateful to have somewhere to train, the space is extremely limited.

Because of this, we already have a waiting list of people who want to join, but we simply do not have the room to accommodate them. A larger facility would also allow us to introduce specialist boxing-based fitness sessions for people living with conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, to help maintain coordination and mobility.

Our goal is to raise £350,000 to secure and develop a new boxing club facility for Sudbury and the surrounding area, benefiting the community not just for now but for generations to come.

A new home would allow us to:

Train more children and young people

Remove our waiting list and welcome new members

Provide better equipment and safer facilities

Expand our community fitness programmes

Create a permanent home for our volunteer-led club

Every coach at our club gives their time completely voluntarily because they believe in the difference this club makes.
