My name is Katie Johnston, and many people may know me from my time on Married at First Sight. While that experience brought me into the public eye, the work that matters most to me happens far away from television cameras.

Over the years, I have become passionate about helping people rebuild their lives, find hope, and create opportunities where none seemed possible. That passion led me to a group of extraordinary children whose resilience has completely changed my perspective on what truly matters - Home of Good Children in Uganda.

Today, I am asking for your help to change the lives of 38 children forever.

These children were once living on the streets, abandoned, neglected, or without anyone to care for them. They faced circumstances no child should ever have to endure.

Today, they are safe. But they still don’t have a permanent home.

Right now, these 38 children live in temporary shelters and tents while we work toward building something they desperately deserve: a safe, secure, permanent home where they can grow, learn, heal, and dream about their future.

The good news is that I have already contributed over $30,000 AUD of my own funds to take care of their urgent needs and buy land so this project can start…

Now I need your help to build what comes next.

Among these children is little Kitty, our youngest, who is almost three years old. She should be spending her days laughing, learning, and playing without a care in the world.

Then there is Tracy, our eldest at 16 years old.

Tracy dreams of one day coming to Australia and becoming a doctor. When asked why, she doesn’t talk about money or success. She talks about helping children who are living the same life she once lived.

And that’s what makes these children so remarkable.

When we ask them what they want to become, they don’t simply dream of a better life for themselves. They dream of becoming doctors, nurses, lawyers, engineers, builders, teachers, and community leaders so they can help the next generation of vulnerable children.

Every single one of them wants to give back.

They want to become the people they once needed.

Our vision goes beyond building an home.

We want to build a school alongside the home.

The school will provide quality education for the children while also creating a sustainable source of income to help support their home for years to come.

Rather than relying solely on donations forever, we want to create a future where education helps fund food, healthcare, accommodation, and opportunities for generations of children.

Education changes everything.

A home provides safety.

But education and a business creates freedom.

Every dollar raised will help us build permanent accommodation, classrooms, learning facilities, essential infrastructure, food programs, healthcare support, and an environment where these children can thrive.
