Hello everyone!
We are DÚVIDA INSUBMISSA - Associação Cultural, a collective of 11 young artists from diverse disciplines—dance, performance, music, visual arts, and more—coming together to create a vibrant and inclusive contemporary art scene in Lisbon, Portugal.
We believe in the power of art, movement, and collaboration, and we’re launching our next big project: O.T.R.O.S. (Other Training Reconforming Other Systems) this September.
OTROS is a new platform dedicated to dance. Based in Lisbon, it arises from the need to encourage contemporary dance research and support new generations of dancers.
OTROS intends to preserve the role of dance technique in this ephemeral and volatile era. It will disseminate the remarkable and qualitative practices that have emerged in the last decades and offer a solid and thorough training path in an accessible format to the community.
To achieve this, we embarked on a huge undertaking: the construction of a floating dance floor in a beautiful space dedicated to dance and movement, generously offered by our local partner organization THOSE WHO DANCE.
To bring this vision to life, we need your help.
Why a Floating Floor?
A floating floor is essential for safe and healthy movement practice. It absorbs impact, protects joints, and creates the ideal surface for dance, performance, and body expression workshops.
Without it, we cannot safely offer movement-based activities to the community.
Our Goal
We’re aiming to raise €13,000 to build a 130 m² floor by autumn 2025.
This will allow us to start a full season of inclusive, accessible, and community-centered cultural activities—all rooted in the body and artistic exchange.
Estimated at €100 per m², the cost will cover the wood (a floating floor must have an air chamber, a structure raised above ground level to make it shock-absorbent), the linoleum (dance carpet) and the carpenter's handiwork.
The floor will be built by Fabien, a skilled carpenter from Switzerland who has lived in Portugal for over 10 years and has generously joined us to make this possible.

Why It Matters
This space will bring support and growth to Lisbon’s cultural and educational scene through contemporary dance. It will host workshops, performances, and artist residencies that reflect the city’s unique social and cultural spirit.
We are committed to creating accessible and affordable events for local residents. At the same time, by welcoming international artists and participants from abroad, we aim to foster a vibrant cultural exchange—blurring borders through shared artistic practices and nurturing a space where ideas and movement philosophies from different backgrounds can meet, mix, and evolve.
