A Home for Hope Through Jiu-Jitsu
In the remote fishing village of Corumbau, Bahia, Brazil, something powerful is happening. A social project, Corumbau BJJ Team, is teaching local children jiu-jitsu for free, giving them more than just physical training—they’re building discipline, confidence, purpose, and community - giving them an outlet, a role model, a way to connect, and a path to personal growth.
But there’s one thing missing: A space to truly call our own.
Right now, we’re training in a shared community area, which means limited time, limited space, and no consistency. And we want to offer them more. Jiu-Jitsu teaches discipline, respect, and perseverance, that gives these children a path that's grounded in self-worth and community.
That is why we are asking for your help—to raise $11,111 USD to build a safe, permanent dojo where these children can train, dream and belong. This dojo won’t just be a building. It will be a symbol of hope, commitment, and community.
What the Funds Will Cover
- A safe and beautiful dojo with a solid foundation, windows, and roof
- Proper flooring and jiu-jitsu mats
- Electricity
- Bathroom and water access
- Changing rooms
- Ceiling fans (an air conditioner if extra funding is received)
- A kitchen and seating areas
- Parking space
- If additional funds are raised: Training gear for the children - kimonos, rash guards, belts, mouth guards, backpacks, transportation costs for competitions, and lunch boxes for competitions. As Corumbau is remote, attending competitions is an adventure of its own :)
We've already secured the land (through the founder's personal donation) and started community outreach. We have wonderful volunteers to help throughout the process, however, we need your help.
Together, we can give these children a dojo - and a future - that they can be proud of :)

About me:
I have been volunteering and actively involved with the project for over one year. This project is my passion, and the children hold an incredibly dear place in my heart. I believe in these children. And I believe in this project.
