Help Us Bring These Kids Home
Donation protected
Hi, we’re Catlin Oliver and Jessica Kibler, and we’re reaching out to ask for your help in giving two incredible kids the stable, loving home they deserve.
Over the past year, we’ve become deeply involved in the lives of Catlin’s niece and nephew. These children have endured more than most adults ever should. Although their maternal grandmother had legal custody, she abandoned them—leaving them in Tennessee with their mother, who struggled with substance abuse and exposed them to unsafe and abusive conditions. They were forced to move from abandoned warehouses to homes with no electricity or running water.
When their mother ran into trouble with DCS, she sent them back to Indiana in April 2024 to live with their father. Unfortunately, he has struggled to provide consistent care, and the children have spent the majority of their time with extended family—particularly us, along with their other aunt, Ashley Oliver. Their father and paternal grandmother enrolled them in school at Rensselaer High School, and since then, we’ve all done everything we can to give them a sense of stability: celebrating holidays, supporting them emotionally, and getting them involved in Roselawn Little League.
We’ve been ready and willing to take full custody since they returned, but the legal system hasn’t made it easy.
On April 24th of this year, CPS and a sheriff removed the children from Catlin’s grandmother—who had been their primary caregiver for the past year—and placed them back with their maternal grandmother based solely on outdated custody paperwork. This is the same person who previously abandoned them. We’re devastated and deeply concerned she may try to take them back to Tennessee and remove them from the only consistent support they’ve known.
We’ve consulted with an attorney, and due to the complexity of the case—especially involving two different states—the legal fees are expected to be very high. We are seeking guardianship or custody to keep the children safe, but we can’t do it without help.
Jessica has been a dedicated volunteer in the Roselawn Little League, coached JV Volleyball at North Newton, and has always dreamed of being a parent. We’re ready to give these kids the love, structure, and safety they’ve been denied for so long.
Please consider donating to help us with legal fees. Every dollar makes a difference—and if you can’t give, please share our story. Your support means the world to us.
With love and gratitude,
