Help Us Gain Custody Of Our Nephews

I’m asking for your support to bring my nephews out of a broken system.

For over a year, Will and I been navigating the North Carolina Alamance County foster care system to adopt them, but it’s been a grueling process filled with delays, roadblocks, and a lack of transparency. Despite meeting all the requirements and being approved by DC to foster, the agency in Alamance County has repeatedly shifted expectations.

In August, I filed a complaint at the state level. The DHHS has been very responsive to our concerns and urged a deeper conversation with county leadership. While the response seemed promising at first, negotiations took a negative turn. We have ample reason to believe the agency is retaliating against us for requesting additional supervision of the case. This is especially concerning, given that every professional I've spoken to about this case, including others in Alamance County, have noted how wrong this.

Sadly common in foster care, especially in North Carolina.

We have a court hearing on 11/6. We’re raising funds to cover mounting legal fees and push back against a system that too often prioritizes bureaucracy over children’s rights and needs. With your help we can fight these unfair practices, get our kids with us, and begin to highlight the ills of a system that often causes more harm than it helps.
