Help Us Bring Our Family to Safety from the Taliban

Hi, my name is Hadia, and one of my youngest sisters is Nazanin. We truly appreciate you taking a moment to read our story.

We are from Afghanistan. Now I am living in Canada, and Nazanin is living in Portugal to study. Our family is in Afghanistan. In a most dangerous country with the government of the Taliban, especially for women. We want to collect some money to transfer our family to a safe place. Six members of our family are in Afghanistan: our parents with three sisters and one brother. Our father worked with foreign countries for a decade, and this made our family a target for the Taliban. Our older sister was in the last term of her university, but when the Taliban came, she lost 12 years of school results and 4 years of her university results. One of our younger sisters was in 6th grade school, and after the Taliban, she could not go to school. She is a painter and wants to continue her education and her interest in the schools and courses, but unfortunately she cannot. Our youngest sister is in the 4th grade at school, and sometimes she asks us whether, after 2 years, I cannot go to school? In fact, we do not know what to say to a child who does not know about the politics of this world and has many dreams for her future. In addition to that, our mother and our sisters cannot go outside of home without our father or a man.

Recently, the Taliban said ''women's voices are private and no one should hear their voice'' and increased our concerns about them. Nazanin has been living for 2 and a half years with the government of the Taliban, and she can explain freely how it is difficult to live with them. On the outside, you feel at any moment that one of the Taliban is approaching you from behind and wants to hit you with his whip. I want to transfer our family to Canada. For this reason, we must provide the sponsorship money for our family, and after that, transfer that money to the associations and churches that get spots to transfer our family; one of these associations will get a spot for me, like the Anglican Diocese of Saskatoon, Catholic Pastoral Center. After that, they will do the legal work of transferring, and with this, we can rescue our family from a dangerous place.

Our request from you is to help us as much as you can and share it with people, as you know. With your help, we can transfer our family to a safe place, and our sisters will continue their education freely. Your help will not be just for me and Nazanin. Your help will be for our family, our sisters. For our youngest sister, as she always asks us what she should do after 2 years. You can imagine how difficult it is to not go to school and universities for 3 years, or you can imagine how you would feel if your little sister asked you this question.
